Family Reunification
Refining Reunification
Since 1989, Casey Family Services Reunification Program has been providing intensive, home-based services to families who have children in foster care because of abuse and neglect. The program is based on six core principles:
- Reunification should begin at the time of child placement.
- Reunification takes time.
- Services must be comprehensive and integrated.
- The issues of jeopardy and conditions for reunification must be clear.
- Services work best when we recognize family strengths.
- Further study of families and processes likely to succeed are needed.
