Three City Mayors in Maine Sign Proclamation to Protect Children
April 26, 2010
In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April, Mayors Colleen Hilton of Westbrook, Tom Coward of South Portland, and Nick Mavodones of Portland proclaimed April 30 Community Partnerships for Protecting Children Day in their respective cities.
The proclamations are part of an effort by Community Partnerships for Protecting Children (CPPC) to raise awareness of the value of building neighborhood-focused support networks that encourage trust and positive connections and strengthen communities. Casey Family Services is a partner in the local CPPC effort.
CPPC, administered by Youth Alternatives Ingraham, is a partnership of parents, neighborhoods, schools, churches, social service providers, child welfare service providers, neighborhood associations and businesses working together to support and strengthen families and communities. CPPC works in three communities in Southern Maine; Portland, Westbrook, and South Portland.
