Media Kit for Journalists
Casey Family Services assists journalists in covering the important issues facing vulnerable children and families today.
The agency’s communications staff supports bloggers, editors, producers, reporters, and writers by:
- Accessing in-house experts for attribution or background on child welfare-related coverage
- Contributing images and video footage when available
- Guiding interviewers on the best way to approach vulnerable children and families who have experienced foster care and protect their confidentiality and interests as appropriate
- Identifying young people and families involved with foster care and adoption who can eloquently speak to the issues being investigated
- Offering the latest data and statistics
- Providing on-air experts for radio, television, and Web interviews
- Showcasing trends involving vulnerable populations
In addition to the above services, Casey Family Services maintains an online media kit for journalists. This kit is a starting point for those reporting on child welfare issues. The kit includes:

- A listing of the agency’s child welfare experts;
- History of the Casey legacy and the Casey Family of Foundations; and
- Fact sheets.
