Casey Family Services Executive Director Raymond E. Torres has been named to the Advisory Board of the National Center for Advocacy and Community Building of the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, Inc. (CHCF).
Headquartered in New York City, CHCF was founded in 1982 by a group of Latino health and human service professionals in response to the need for culturally sensitive services for Latino families in the foster care and adoption system. CHCF has implemented programs that meet the needs of low-income Latino families and children in such critical areas as youth development, child care, HIV/AIDS prevention and education, Latino immigrant services and public policy/advocacy.
CHCF developed the National Center for Advocacy and Community to empower
Latino communities and provide them with an active policy voice in areas in which they have been historically excluded from participating. The purpose of the Center is to fulfill the interests of Latino children and families on a national, state and local level.
