A Mother For Every Child

Victoria Rowell - star of "Diagnosis Murder" and "The Young and the Restless" - is one of TV's busiest actresses. She is also a star for foster children, knowing firsthand their need for a mother. Once a foster child herself, Rowell credits her foster mother with preparing her for success. "My foster family was loving and strong. That helped me become a loving, capable adult," says Rowell.

To promote quality and stability in foster care, Rowell became national spokesperson for Casey Family Services, a nonprofit child welfare agency that helps vulnerable children and families. "I am proud to be a part of this effort," says Ms. Rowell. "We want to get more people involved in foster care so we can support families and children in need, especially those young people who are aging out of the foster care system." Ms. Rowell is the chairman and founder of the Rowell Foster Children's Positive Plan (rowellfosterchildren.org), a nonprofit organization providing ballet scholarships, camp experiences in sports and the arts, and employment opportunities for transitioning foster youth.
