Five Things to Know About Casey Family Services

As someone new to blogging, I wondered if some of you might be new to Casey Family Services. I thought I would take a minute to share some quick and important facts about our agency.

5. Casey Family Services is preparing for a new database to help manage our child welfare cases, and it promises to be an innovative system. As a tester of the new program, it’s been exciting to be in on the ground floor of this new tool’s launch! We’ll have more to share in the coming months.

4. My team at Casey Family Services had several accomplishments in 2009. We were able to reduce the time between the referral of a child to our program and a placement with a family by 50 percent. We also exceeded our goal for new inquiries and referrals of foster and adoptive parents, which is critical in our work of connecting children and families with lifelong families. We also exceeded our goal of attracting families to our foster parent orientation sessions by 11 percent. These numbers reflect great work by our entire team.

3. Our state partnerships in this region have continued to grow and are going well. These relationships are critical to our Permanency Planning Process and Teaming!

2. In 2010, all of the high school seniors in our program will participate in a new mentoring program by Casey Family Services designed to foster and support youth in achieving their goal of high school graduation.

1. The need for permanent, safe, loving homes for children who have experienced abuse and neglect has never been greater. Agencies such as Casey Family Services need the partnership of communities, corporations, and state offices in meeting the needs of these kids.
