Family Advocacy and Support
These services are designed to help families who are experiencing difficulties that could lead to family disruption resulting in out-of-home placement for dependents or serve as barriers to reunification for those children already in out-of-home placement. These services support families to identify, appreciate and more effectively use their internal strengths, while also improving their connections with the community resources that might help them attain their goals. An important piece of this work is the creation of opportunities for service providers to understand and respect the capacity of families to capably manage the issues involving their children. Through these improved connections to service providers and the support of their kin and communities, there is a far greater chance that families can manage developmental and contingent change toward achieving stability and well being for their children.
