Casey Statewide Foster Care recruits families to work with
children who are usually between the ages of 5 and 13. In most
cases, these children are in need of foster care because of
abuse and or neglect. In some cases, these youngsters will be
reunified with their birth parents or may become free for
adoption, or guardianship. Our foster placements last, on
average, between one and two years before the child's permanent
plan is achieved. Casey foster parents are central to helping
children achieve lifelong families.
Casey Neighborhood Foster
Care recruits families living in the
neighborhoods of Washington Park and South Providence
to provide foster care for children who are removed
from their homes within the same area. The goal
is to maintain children in need of foster families
within familiar surroundings while supporting
their birth families as they prepare for the return
of their children.
Informal Kinship Foster Care provides support services to families living within the neighborhoods Washington Park and the South Side of Providence that are not involved with DCYF. This program is focused on families that are caring for youngsters, family members, or friends.
Formalized DCYF Foster Care provides support services to families living within the neighborhoods Washington Park and the South Side of Providence that are licensed caregivers through DCYF.
