Services Offered: Foster Care
Specialized and treatment care are aspects of our program.
Specialized Care
Specialized Foster Care is a program of professionally planned services for children who, for a variety of reasons, cannot live with their birth parents or extended families of origin and who currently are not ready for adoption. Casey Family Services recruits committed, talented foster parents and supports them with training and a range of ongoing services that help create a stable family experience. To the fullest extent possible, the program encourages and assists each child in maintaining a connection with his or her birth family. Casey Family Services also provides counseling and support to children making the transition from foster homes to their birth homes, adoptive homes or into independent living.
Treatment Care
Treatment Foster Care is designed for children with severe emotional challenges who come from an institutional setting or are likely to be placed in one. Typically, these children have a history of severe abuse, neglect or chaotic home lives. The goal is to provide a supportive family environment in which a child's struggle to forge a normal life has the greatest chance of success. The critical needs of these troubled children are addressed through treatment strategies developed by multi-disciplinary teams of professionals.
In-Home Services
Casey Family Services is now offering an additional service to youth and families involved with DCYF or DJJS. In-home services offers intensive support to help families avoid having a youth go into placement or help make a youth's return home successful. Casey Family Services offers this service as part of the State's ISO (individualized service option) initiative. Referrals for this program come from DCYF or DJJS.
