Services Offered: Family Resource
Centers Casey Family Services recognizes
the critical importance of community networks
in providing all the services and supports families
need to grow stronger and better able to ensure
the healthy development of their children. Since
1999, Casey has expanded its work in helping to
build and enhance those networks through community-based
family resource centers in Maryland, Massachusetts,
New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
In its New Hampshire Division, Casey Family Services,
in collaboration with the Franklin/Hill School
District, operates three family resource centers
to serve working families with children in grades
kindergarten through 12.
Family resource centers at Franklin High School,
Franklin Middle School, and at the Paul Smith
Elementary School serve children and working families
in a variety of ways. The centers provide homework
assistance, parenting support, and structured
clubs and activities that are designed to keep
kids safe and inspire learning in a setting that
is affordable and supportive. Services for children
include an after-school program for grades kindergarten
through eight, a before-school program at the
elementary level, and a summer program when school
is not in session.
In addition, Casey Family Services provides help
for families to increase their economic success.
This help includes financial information, counseling
as appropriate, and referrals to resources for
needs including budgeting, first-time home-ownership,
transportation, and financial goal setting. Casey
also leads the Franklin Asset Building Coalition,
which provides free income tax return preparation
and linkage to services that help families save
and grow their money.
