Out for the Day Respite Program

Casey Family Services Post Adopt Program and the University of New Hampshire’s Outdoor Education Program have worked together to provide respite for parents, while offering adopted children experiences to improve on conflict management, teambuilding, communication skills, and developing relationships. The program has completed its fifth year, and many families have taken advantage of this exciting opportunity. We have served many young people, and their participation has been very rewarding.

The structured day offers numerous activities such as arts and crafts, swimming, gym games, and team building games. The program operates on the beautiful campus of the University of New Hampshire, which offers the children many exciting opportunities such as attending sporting events and interacting with volunteer college students. Out For the Day Program runs one Saturday a month, and is open to adopted boys and girls ages 7 to 15.

Joe, a participant for the past three years, says, “It’s easier to make friends because of the staff. The day is filled with fun activities.” Joe’s parents add, “We relax knowing our child is with professional and caring staff that can handle all situations.” Out for the Day will take place on December 16, January 27, February 24, March 31, April 28, May 5, and June 23. Please call 800.417.7375 for an application or additional information.
