The Maine Division is a partner in a federally funded project designed to evaluate an innovative post-adoption family support model. This model involves providing clinical/case management services to randomly selected families throughout the state. The Maine Adoption Guides effort, a collaboration of the Maine Department of Human Services, Casey Family Services, and the Edmund S. Muskie School of the University of Southern Maine, has the wide-ranging potential to benefit Maine's entire adoption community, and ultimately influence post-adoptive practices nationwide. In addition, support groups are offered and open to all adoptive families in Maine.
