Services Offered: Foster Care

We provide an array of foster care services for children in state custody, with a goal of providing every foster child a family for life. Foster parents may provide respite care, reunification services or treatment-level foster care.

Respite Care
Respite care offers a scheduled break to the foster children and foster families in Casey Family Services. Respite care is planned time away from the foster home. A schedule for respite care is agreed upon by all parties involved using Casey's team approach to foster care. Respite foster parents receive the same ongoing training and support as other Casey foster parents.

Reunification Care
Reunification care is provided by foster parents who are committed to the child as long as that child remains in state custody, supporting the parent/child relationship and working with the Reunification Team toward developing a permanency plan for the child. Children may go home to birth parents, kin or extended family members. If the plan for a child becomes adoption, Casey foster families may choose to adopt or help the child transition to an adoptive family. Post-adoption services are available to Casey foster families who adopt their foster child.

Treatment Care
Treatment foster care is designed for children with severe emotional challenges who come from an institutional setting or are likely to be placed in one. Typically, these children have a history of severe abuse and neglect or chaotic home lives. Our goal is to provide a supportive family environment in which a child has the greatest chance of success at either returning to their birth or extended family, or becoming part of a life long family through adoption. The needs of these children are addressed through treatment strategies developed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, including the foster parents.
