Diversity Fair Unites Community
More than 200 people and 25 organizations turned out for the Baltimore Division's first diversity fair, which carried the theme "Communities United."
"We were delighted with the day. The weather was beautiful with folk of all age groups attending," says Anna Williams, Baltimore Division Director. "There was definitely positive energy at the fair," which took place in June.
The fair's theme was a reflection of what the division is trying to achieve, says Vickie Holley-Stokes, Resource Coordinator. "We're continuing to build a relationship with all the communities in our area, including Native
Americans, Latinos and African-Americans."
In an effort to cater to the diverse crowd, the division presented different types of cultural foods and entertainment. Performers included: the Golden Rockettes, the Soaring Eagles from the American Indian Center, the Revels Step Team from the Boys and Girls Club, representatives from the Baltimore Zoo, and Anthony Ware the Magician. Casey employee Flor Giusti also sang Latin tunes.
