Computer Pilot Project
On June 7, The Family Connections program in the Bridgeport Division hosted
a dinner to celebrate the conclusion of the Computer
Pilot Project. Ten families from the Family Connections
program have participated in the project since
its implementation in June of 2003. Throughout
the last two years The families have successfully
completed a series of general computing classes
and the Casey Computer College weekend, which
took place at the UCONN campus in Storrs, CT.
During the celebration dinner the families’
accomplishments were recognized by the evening’s
guest speakers, Executive Deputy Director of Planning
and Policy Joy Duva, Division Director Linda Goldenberg,
and Director of Research Ben Kerman. Each of them
congratulated the participants on their hard work
and dedication to the project in their speeches.
At the end of the evening each family member
received a certificate/diploma to formally acknowledge
their success in the completion of the Computer
Pilot Project and the celebration was topped off
with a slide show presentation, compliments of
Juliette LeCornec, which highlighted every key
moment of the Computer Pilot project through out
the last two years. A good time was had by all.
